Jennie N. Gonzalez is the Deputy Labor Commissioner for the Labor Commissioner’s Office, Bureau of Field Enforcement. She was born and raised in Ventura County, and moved to Kern County in 2004. With 20 years of state service experience, Jennie spent two of those years working at the Labor Commissioner’s Office, Bureau of Field Enforcement.
Jennie takes pride in fulfilling the mission of the Division, which is “to ensure a just day’s pay in every workplace in the State and to promote economic justice through robust enforcement of labor laws. By combating wage theft, protecting workers from retaliation, and educating the public, we put earned wages into workers’ pockets and help level the playing field for law-abiding employers.”

“Common DLSE Violations & the Investigation Process”
Jennie will present alongside Gina Hester, the regional manager for the Southern California Labor Commissioner’s Office. Together, Jennie and Gina will discuss the most common violations seen from the public, and will walk attendees through what happens once a complaint is received. Many of the most common mistakes will also be addressed.
