Dr. JT “Jiatian” Chen is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management in the College
of Business and Public Administration at CSU Bakersfield. He received his PhD in
organizational behavior from the University of Kansas and his master’s degree in human
resource management from The Ohio State University.

He has conducted research and published academic articles on the topics of career development,
employee well-being, work meaningfulness, and organizational climate. Courses that he has
taught include introduction to human resource management, compensation and benefits
administration, organizational behavior, and business and society. He also serves as the faculty
advisor to the SHRM student chapter at CSU Bakersfield. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging
and cooking.
